Open Source IAM using Fortress and OpenLDAP

by Shawn McKinney

This technical session introduces an Identity and Access Management solution that combines established open source directory technologies from OpenLDAP with a new Java tool called Fortress into a single, integrated IAM suite. Because Fortress uses Java, it is capable of running on any hardware or software platform. Because Fortress is open source, it provides real cost savings without locking you into a proprietary system. Discussion Points:

  • Discuss the security technology gaps that Fortress covers
  • Discuss the features and technologies used to build Fortress
  • Demonstrate the installation of a fully operational Fortress/OpenLDAP
  • Discuss how to obtain and start using Fortress today
  • Review what.s being planned for Fortress. 2.0 release
