OpenDJ: Life after OpenDS and Sun

by Ludovic Poitou

Two years ago, we presented at LDAPCon some innovations in the LDAP world that were sparkling in the OpenDS open source project. Since then, Oracle finalized the acquisition of Sun, and triggering some re-organization of the project and teams, and well as some forks of the project. In this talk, we will present OpenDJ, a continuation of the OpenDS and it's attempt to build a complete set of LDAP directory services, as a free and open source project. We will discuss the current state of the project, its strengths and weaknesses, and talk about the directions and remaining work to be done.
