Integrating OpenLDAP and Samba Active Directory in Univention Corporate Server

Thursday 19th October, from 4.20 to 5 PM

OpenLDAP is the core backend of Univention Corporate Server (UCS) to provide enterprise scale Identity Management infrastructure.
With the integration of Samba based Active Directory services into the product, the traditional single-master operation of
OpenLDAP with hub-and-spoke-replication has been complemented by the multi-master operation of Samba/AD with it’s own native
multi-master DRS-replication protocol.

The talk highlights the mode of operation of OpenLDAP in UCS and how we bridge the two schema worlds and replication technologies.
It gives insight into future directions and invites discussion of the proposal of an overlay for attribute-level versioning in
OpenLDAP to support replication with Samba/AD.
